The Broad Locking Compression Plate (LCP) is an orthopedic implant for internal fixation of long bones. Its wider profile suits larger bone segments, and it comes in a wide range of sizes and hole configurations to meet varying fixation needs.
Design and Construction
Each hole in the Broad Locking Compression Plate uses a combination (combi) hole design. One side of the hole accepts conventional cortex screws for axial compression. The other side is threaded to grip locking head screws, which lock directly into the plate to create a fixed-angle construct. This lets the surgeon apply conventional screwing, locking, or both within the same plate — depending on what the case demands.
The plate’s undersurface also reduces direct contact with the bone shaft.
