The hock plate is a orthopedic bone plate that surgeons use to stabilize the tarsal (hock) joint during fracture and arthrodesis procedures. It bridges and immobilizes the affected bone segments, so the surgical site stays stable while it heals.
The plate’s contoured profile follows the anatomy of the tarsal region, which helps surgeons position it accurately along the bone surface. Additionally, multiple screw holes run along the plate body, so surgeons can choose screw placement based on the specific fracture pattern or arthrodesis site they’re addressing. This hole layout is a standard feature across bone plates used for tarsal and metatarsal fixation.
